Deirdre Wenzel
Deirdre is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher
E-500hr, YACEP® and a Yoga Therapist in Training. She began her personal practice in 1999 and has been teaching since 2010. Deirdre has taught many group vinyasa classes with an emphasis on alignment and breath. Her background as an engineer supports her focus on technical details but her creative approach and a bit of humor offer balance.
As she moves through middle age, Deirdre has adapted her own practice and her teaching to accommodate injuries, new interests, and the natural process of aging. Her priority as a teacher and a practitioner is to use the tools of yoga to live in harmony and to keep yoga accessible over the full course of a lifetime. Specific areas of interest and training include: yoga and low back pain, yoga Nidra meditation, accessible/chair yoga, yoga and sleep, yoga and osteoporosis, and pranayama.
Deirdre has always been drawn to the therapeutic benefits of yoga and is working towards her Yoga Therapist certification, to be completed in 2025. Her approach is influenced by her teachers Doug Keller, Marcia Miller, Linda Oshins, Robin Rothenberg, Jason Crandell, and many others.
Deirdre and her husband Dennis have been partners for over 30 years. They have two adult children and a pup named Phoebe. They live on the west side of Cleveland.
